About Zakat

What is Zakat?

Zakat is one of the Five Pillars of Islam. It is an obligatory charity that purifies wealth and helps those in need.

Who Pays Zakat?

Muslims whose wealth exceeds the Nisab threshold (minimum amount) for one lunar year are obligated to pay 2.5% of their wealth.

What is Nisab?

Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth one must have before Zakat becomes obligatory, equivalent to 87.48g of gold or 612.36g of silver.
